Scientific Thoughts of Allama Iqbal

Abstract

This article spells out some of the unique aspects of Allama Iqbal’s thinking about the important developments in scientific disciplines. Although he is known only as poet and philosopher, Allama has beautifully and articulately discussed some of the contemporary ideas in the subjects of pure science. Most important is his imaginary voyage of the skies along with Moulana Roomi. Allama Iqbal has also pre-suggested technologies discovered later on, in 1954, 1956, 1978, 1980 i.e. solar cell / energy, ultrasound, test-tube baby and wind energy respectively. Further he has discussed extensively the theory of relativity, and quantum theory of Albert Einstein, praised him, and dwelt on their philosophical implications.
