AIM & SCOPE

The JASH is a bilingual e-journal and has been planned to publish in English and Urdu that promotes cotemporary societal debates and social deliberations without limitation of topic or approach and welcome original research papers, review articles, rapid communications, observational studies, theoretical / conceptual write-ups, case and methodological studies, notes and extension reports, authoritative opinions and commentaries and other relevant communications. It will be abstracted, crawl and indexed by the abstracting/indexing agencies of international repute.

 The journal covers broad spectrum of topics ranging from socio-cultural, economic, and political changes, to human behavior, globalization, and financial crimes etc. To elaborate further a list for research areas covered includes but not limited to is anthropology, archeology, archival studies, area studies, behavioral studies, conservation studies, criminology, defense and strategic studies, demography and population studies, development studies, econometrics, economics, education, ethnography, history, home economics, international relations, Iqbal studies, Islamic studies, Arabic studies, journalism, law and legislature, library and information sciences, mass communication, media studies, Pakistan studies, peace and conflict studies, philosophy, psychology, public administration, religious studies, rural/urban studies, social work, sociology, special education, women and gender studies etc.

Publication Policy

The Journal of Arts, Sociology and Humanities (JASH) ISSN: 3079-1146

Manuscripts and other scholarly communications submitted to The Journal of Arts, Sociology and Humanities (JASH) are accepted on the explicit understanding that they have not been published previously, nor are they under consideration for publication elsewhere, in whole or in part.

Manuscript Preparation and Submission

  1. Manuscripts must be written only in the English and Urdu language and submitted in Microsoft Word format. The text should be typed on A-4 size paper, using 5 line spacing, with 2.54 cm margins on all sides. Authors are responsible for ensuring that manuscripts are carefully checked for grammatical, typographical, and factual errors prior to submission.
  2. JASH follows, with minor adaptations, the Scientific Style and Format: The CBE Manual for Authors, Editors, and Publishers (6th Edition, 1994; Cambridge University Press) for style and formatting.
  3. All submitted manuscripts are subjected to a Similarity Index check using appropriate plagiarism-detection software against published literature and internet Manuscripts showing a Similarity Index exceeding 19% may be rejected without further review.

Copyright and Open License

The copyright of manuscripts accepted for publication is retained by The Journal of Arts, Sociology and Humanities (JASH). However, authors and readers are granted an open-access license under Creative Commons, allowing immediate and free access to the published work. Users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to full texts, crawl articles for indexing, or use them for any other lawful purpose, provided proper citation is ensured.

All contributions are subject to editorial revision. The decision of the Editor and Editorial Board regarding acceptance or rejection of a manuscript shall be final and not subject to appeal.

Peer-Review Process

Upon successful submission, an automated manuscript identification number is generated and communicated to the corresponding author. JASH follows a double- blind peer-review policy, ensuring anonymity of both authors and reviewers.

The journal management endeavours to complete the review process in a timely manner. Reviewers are requested to submit their evaluations promptly; however, delays beyond the control of the journal management may occur. Under normal circumstances, if submission, review, and revision processes proceed smoothly, a final decision (acceptance or rejection) is typically reached within 15–20 weeks.

Proofs and Final Corrections

Following acceptance, manuscripts are typeset and proofs are sent to authors via email for final checking. Authors must return corrected proofs within the stipulated

 

timeframe. Only minor corrections are permitted at this stage. No changes to the authorship list are allowed after acceptance.

Open Access Policy

The Journal of Arts, Sociology and Humanities (JASH) is a peer-reviewed, open- access journal. All published articles are freely and permanently accessible to readers worldwide immediately upon publication.

Reuse of published content is permitted under the Creative Commons Attribution- Non-Commercial License, allowing non-commercial use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is appropriately cited.

 

 

Publication Ethics

JASH considers publication ethics a core value and strictly adheres to internationally recognized ethical standards, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. The double-blind peer-review process is employed to ensure the integrity, originality, and scholarly value of submitted work.

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors must confirm that:

  • The manuscript is original work of the author(s)
  • The work has not been published or submitted
  • Simultaneous submission to more than one journal is unethical
  • A signed certificate accompanies the manuscript stating that:

“The manuscript (title) is based on original research and the data presented have neither been published in whole or in part nor are under consideration for publication elsewhere. All authors have read and approved the manuscript and agree to the order of authorship.”

  • Any conflict of interest is clearly disclosed
  • All sources of data and references are properly acknowledged
  • Any errors identified after submission are promptly communicated to the Editor

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to assess manuscripts objectively for scholarly merit, originality, critical depth, and ethical integrity. Reviewers must ensure that:

  • Reviews are conducted fairly and without discrimination
  • Any conflict of interest is disclosed to the Editor
  • Manuscript contents remain confidential
  • Any ethical concerns or grounds for rejection are communicated to the Editor

Editors’ Responsibilities

 

Editors must ensure that:

  • Manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit
  • Confidentiality of manuscripts is maintained
  • Conflicts of interest are disclosed and managed transparently
  • Publication decisions are based on reviewer reports, editorial policies, and legal considerations related to plagiarism, libel, and copyright infringement

 

 

Article Processing Charges (APC)

From July 2025 following charges will be applied for open access publication to meet the publication expenditures.

From Pakistan:

  • PKR 20,000 for manuscripts up to eight printed pages From Abroad:
  • USD 300 for manuscripts up to eight printed pages

Article Processing Charges are applicable only after acceptance of the manuscript. For the members of the Pakistan Agricultural Scientists Forum, 20% concession in publication fee will be granted if the annual membership has been renewed regularly.

 

 

This publication policy is approved by the executive council of Pakistan Agricultural Scientists Forum in consultation with editorial board of the JASH.
